Pain to Ball of Foot/Toes

Often times the "ball" of one's foot can become sensitive or painful, feeling bruised or "like walking on a stone" or marble. This condition is common and results from a variety of causes, such as a thinning of the natural pad or lack of natural cushioning. Calluses and plantar warts can also result in painful walking.

Neuromas or "pinched nerves" are common near the toes, resulting from increased activity, running, or even too narrow a shoe. The painful result can be numbness, tingling, a feeling of "pins & needles" or a sharp shooting pain. Neuromas are successfully treated with simple remedies or, if more severe, surgical treatment is available.
